Ma sha Allah, I have the same feeling when I see another Greek Muslim finding us! Welcome to the group, Br. Yaqub.
Where do you live? Pou menis?
Selam alaykoum se olous.
firstly i wish all of you a ramadhan karim.
Secondly, are you really greek or albanians?
how have you getting islam in your heart?
Wa alaikum assalaam greekyacine,
Ramadan kareem. The vast majority of us are ethnic Greeks who grew up Christians and chose to convert to Islam. We have others who have visited our website that are not Greek but live in Greece etc. but I haven’t come across any Albanians to our site, at least yet. (Please see our guestbook page at “Find Greek Muslims” page. Most of the people check there instead of on this page).
Alhamdulillah, Allah guided us to the truth. How about you? What’s your ethnic background? Are you living in Greece?
Assalaam alaykoum Greek muslim. I am greek from France. and I have choosen islam for my religion for 8 years ago.
And I am very pleased to see others greeks like me.
I believed I was alone, the only greek muslim in the world! but now with your site I am reassured!

Wa alaikum assalaam Greekyacine. I can relate to what you said about thinking that we are the only Greek Muslim in the world. Others have said the same thing so alhamdulilah I am so happy Allah brought us together.
Insha Allah, keep in touch and hopefully we’ll see you on the blog in the future.
salam aleykum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh,
happy eid my brothers and sisters in islam. I too am a Greek convert to islam. Doksa to Theo. Etuxe kapoios na mou dwsei ena Korani na diavasw kai apo ekeini ti stigmi de mporesa na gurisw pisw. O theos einai pragmati megalos.
The path to Islam is not an easy one to converts, as they have a lot to learn and to think about. They have to abandon a whole mindset and adopt a way of life in submission to Allah’s(SWT) will. I must say though that with earnest intention Allah(SWT) does guide us to the straight path and fills our hearts with faith and strength to endure.
It was though until recently that some doubts remained in my mind. That is until I found shia Islam. All my questions were answered in a way that pleased my heart. Our Prophet I was told, may God bless him and his progeny, is perfect. He (pbuh&hf) is the reason Allah (SWT) created the universe. The Imams that followed him were the defenders of Islam and his message, perfect embodiment of the virtues of Islam. And truly their stories are true inspirations, Imam Ali, (AS) Amir al Mumineen, sermons in Nahjul Balagha, are the peak of eloquence. Imam Hussein (AS) martyrdom in Karbala, is the ultimate sacrifice to defend Islam. In each prayer we recite Tajahud and ask Allah to bless Mohammed and his progeny, it is not by accident. It is meaningful and most beloved by Allah(SWT).
This is my two cents, as I guess I feel a duty towards Greek brothers and sisters in particular. I just urge you to question and research this issue for yourself as the same questioning and research has led you correctly so far. And Allah (SWT) guides whomever HE (swt) wills.
penelopi
Wa alejkum salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu sister Penelopi. Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) constantly asked Allah to bless Muslims and Believers. He (saws) had so much love for his Ummah The BOOK of ALLAH which is the Purest and Perfect book gives glad tidings to all the believers and Muslims. The generation of his was the best generation. People like Abu Bakr, Uthman, Hamza, Ali, Omar, Fatima, Aisha etc. were all very great men/women and we as Muslims have extremely good examples in them. They carried Islam completely and did not compartmentalize it. And to top it off we have the single most best example, the Prophet Muhammad (SAWS). Alhamdulillah, we have inherited the Furqan and we have the Haqq. Alhamdulillah, we are blessed to have the unparalleled pure Quran and the Sunnah, and after that we have many great works that try to further explain the wisdom behind the Quran and Sunnah some better than others and some with less human error/flaws than others. We should really think deeply about this on this Eid day and be grateful and thankfull for such an inheritance
i am sorry i do not agree
Even though I am not quite sure with what you do not agree with, why should you be sorry? Allah ALONE, no human being whether prophet, imam or scholar as much as he is beloved by Allah knows the capacity of every person and his/her ability to comprehend and understand things. It is one of those things that ONLY Allah knows….like when the Days of Resurrection and Judgement. And ALL people have various degrees of understanding. Do you agree with this Penelopi….or not? Now, maybe you can clarify for me and probably for others here what you have found difference with and you are sorry. After all, these types of sites are made for people to share ideas, and get some insight from each other into various issues in all honesty and (supposedly) without any deception. Islam is a pure religion whose basic dogmas are easily understood by a peasant farmer and where a scientist can receive inspiration to unlock the keys of the universe.
I think I should clarify what I mean by I do not agree. I think there is distinction between the Ummah. Is not Abu Bakr considered better than Omar? Correct me if Im wrong.
I guess I feel that way because there is also distinction between the prophets. Our prophet Mohammed (Pbuh&hf) is the Seal of the Prophets and the best of them. In no way does this diminish the value of the others but it is the truth from Allah (SWT). I dont believe that this compartmentalizes Islam. Learning about each one individually, and studying and researching their life in depth is the only way for them to be role models. Specific examples we can emulate, isnt Islam suppose to teach us how to behave in all aspects of life?
I expressed my personal opinion on how studying the life of the Son in Law of the prophet, Imam Ali, (AS) and the grandson of the prophet Imam Hussein (AS) have inspired and enriched my life. I totally agree with you on all your other points and may Allah (SWT) grant us the ability to think about all these deeply and gain from this knowledge and also be forever grateful of such an inheritance
Wa alaikum assalam Penelope and Eid Mubarak from the land downunder.
If you mean by Shia Islam that you support Ali (May Allah be pleased with him) over Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman (May Allah be pleased with them all) then that is only a political difference which even the Sahaba may have disputed.
If you mean by shia Islam that it is ok to curse the Sahaba, including my mother Aisha then I cannot agree with you. If you mean by Shia Islam that your 12th Imam is alive and hiding then I do not agree with you. If you mean by Shia Islam that your Imams are infallible then that is a very dangerous thought and I cannot agree with you. If you mean by shia Islam than the Qu’ran that the people of the Sunnah posses is incomplete then I do not agree with you. If you mean by shia Islam that Gibril Alahi Salam betrayed the trust then I do not agree with you. If you mean by Shia islam that women can prostitute themselves in disguise of a temporary marriage then I do not agree with.
As mulsims we love the Ahlul Bayt. We respect and love Ja’afar al-Sadiq as a great scholar but we do not believe the fasle claims that have been made concerning him such as him having more knowledge than the prophets and messengers and that this knowledge is hereditary. We categorically deny that Ja’afar al-Sadiq had knowldege of al-ghayb, let alone ‘your Imams’. To deny these things does not belittle Ja’afar al-Sadiq’s standing as he was a scholar and a teacher of great men such as Abu Hanifah and Malik.
oh man, you Greeks are massively deluded. I’m amazed a true Greek would ever convert to islam, a religion which inspires only hate and prejudice – totally against Greek values. Do you have any idea what our ancestors went through under Ottoman muslim occupation? I understand you think islam is the true religion, but how do you truly know that? Don’t think im advocating christianity – im an atheist, meaning i believe what is backed up by evidence and reasoned argument, not some holy text. Islam is no different to christianity – both are violent and disturbing.
research both sects of islam. if u want to be true
